Support for Local Children in Foster Care
In Texas, over 17,000 children are in foster care, each needing the stability of a safe and loving home. CK Family Services is dedicated to providing temporary care to children who are unable to live with their parents or family of origin. Through our Foster Care Program, we offer not just a home, but a comprehensive range of need-specific services:
- Case Management: Ensuring that each child’s unique needs are met, from educational support to medical care.
- Mental and Behavioral Health Support: Addressing the emotional and psychological challenges that many children in foster care face.
- Basic Needs: Providing essentials like food, clothing, and entertainment to create a nurturing environment.
With more resources and additional foster homes, children can be placed with their siblings and closer to their families and homes, aligning with the goal of reunification whenever possible. Your support helps make this critical work possible, ensuring that more children in foster care have the chance to thrive in a stable, supportive environment.
Helping Those Utilizing Our Behavioral Health Services
The need for mental health support among children and youth is greater than ever. Across the U.S., 5.5 million children suffer from behavioral issues, often compounded by trauma, abuse, neglect, or mental health concerns. At CK Family Services, we are called to serve these vulnerable children and their families, guided by the principle in Luke 12:48: “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”
Our Behavioral Health Program provides essential skills training and development for children as young as 3 years old with a mental health diagnosis who are covered by Texas Medicaid. These services extend to the child’s legally authorized representative, parent, or immediate caregiver, helping families manage and overcome the challenges associated with mental health issues.
