Building Forever Families
There’s a reason “family” is part of our name. We believe in the power of a stable, loving family to give kids the best start possible – whether the family is biological, foster or adopted. While we do offer adoption services, we do not provide private adoption or international adoption. Our focus is on getting parents ready and “approved” to adopt children who are in Texas foster care and need an adoptive family.
An important note about foster care as it relates to adoption – the first objective when a child is put into foster care is to help the birth family reunite with the child. Both the birth family and the child get counseling and support to help make a successful reunion possible. If it isn’t possible, kinship care is the next option. “Kinship” refers to grandparents, aunts, uncles or cousins who can step in to care for the child (and sometimes even adopt them). If none of these options work out, the child can be adopted by families approved by the state of Texas.
Matched Adoption
Sometimes referred to as "straight adoption," this program is designed for families looking for permanent adoption without first providing foster care. CK Family supports families on their journey to find their forever child, facilitating the adoption process from start to finish. The process, including approval from the state, usually takes six to 18 months.
Regardless of how adoption happens, the gift is life-changing for everyone involved. The joys, the breakdowns, the breakthroughs, the firsts and lasts – and all the high fives in between. All the things that make family bonds unlike any other.
