They look forward to buying new outfits, picking out new shoes, and getting a haircut for the first day. However, many kids in foster care don’t have access to these basic necessities. They may not have the opportunity to get these simple things that contribute to a positive and successful school experience.

Children in foster care often face significant challenges as they start a new school year. Many have endured trauma, instability, and loss, which can make the prospect of a new school year daunting. Without the proper support and resources, these kids face even greater obstacles in their academic and social development. Having the necessary supplies and a fresh start helps them feel confident and prepared, which can lead to success in the classroom and a positive outlook on their future.
