North Texas Giving Day season is here! A time when individuals, families and businesses across our region come together to support organizations making a difference in their communities. At CK Family Services, this season is an opportunity to reflect on what can happen when people unite around a child or family in need.
A child finds security during an uncertain season. Foster, kinship and adoptive parents receive support as they care for children with complex needs. A young person learns to manage overwhelming emotions. A struggling family gains the tools needed to remain safely together.
These are more than services delivered or numbers recorded. They are lives changed, and they are made possible by people who believe children and families deserve hope.
Meeting Families in Their Most Difficult Moments
Children and families across Texas face abuse, neglect, trauma, behavioral challenges, family instability and the uncertainty of separation. Guided by our mission, CKFS provides meaningful support wherever they are in their journey.
People united through God to enhance the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of at-risk children and families.
Sometimes that means helping provide a safe, nurturing home for a child who needs security and stability. Sometimes it means supporting the foster, kinship or adoptive parents caring for that child. In other situations, it means helping a child navigate difficult emotions or strengthening a family before separation becomes necessary.
The circumstances may be different, but the goal remains the same: helping children and families move toward safety, healing and lasting stability.
Safe Homes and Supported Families
Through foster parenting, CKFS helps provide safe, nurturing homes for children who need security and stability during an uncertain season. Foster parenting is temporary parenting that supports children while their families work toward reunification. CKFS provides foster parents with training, guidance and ongoing support as they care for children who may have experienced trauma, loss or significant disruption.
Through kinship care, CKFS supports relatives and close family friends who step forward to care for children they already know and love. These placements help children maintain important connections to family, culture, community and personal history while receiving the safety and consistency they need.
When children in foster care cannot safely return to their families, adoption from foster care can provide lasting permanency and belonging. CKFS prepares and supports families as they make a lifelong commitment to a child and begin building their future together.
Mental and Behavioral Health Support
Our Children’s Mental & Behavioral Health Program helps children develop practical skills to manage emotions, communicate effectively and function more successfully at home, at school and in the community. Caregivers also receive support in understanding and responding to challenging behaviors.
Helping Families Stay Together
CKFS provides preventative support designed to strengthen families, address serious challenges early and help prevent more children from entering foster care whenever it is safe and possible for them to remain at home.
Texas Families First provides early support to families experiencing significant stress, helping them build stability so children can remain safely at home whenever possible.
Resilient Families works with caregivers who feel overwhelmed by a child’s complex emotional or behavioral needs. Through practical guidance and hands-on support, the program helps families restore stability and move forward with renewed confidence.
Support After Adoption
Our commitment does not end when an adoption is finalized. Through a contract with the State of Texas, CKFS provides Post-Adoption Services that connect adoptive families with continued guidance, resources and support as their needs change.
Family Assessments
Through our Family Assessment Program, CKFS completes comprehensive assessments that help child-placing agencies, courts and families make informed decisions about foster, kinship and adoptive placements.
Together, these programs allow CKFS to meet children and families at many points in their journey, from preventing family separation and providing temporary safety, to supporting adoption and helping families remain strong for years to come. Each service reflects the same commitment: helping children experience safety, stability, healing and lasting connection.
A Direct Way to Give in 2026
Each September, generosity takes center stage across North Texas. This year, CK Family Services has chosen to receive donations directly through our website rather than participate in the North Texas Giving Day platform.
This decision allows CKFS to avoid the costs and fees associated with participation, helping more of each gift support our mission and the children and families we serve.
Giving directly is simple, secure and allows your generosity to make an even greater impact.
More Than One Way to Make a Difference
Financial gifts are a vital way to support this work. You can also share our giving link with friends, relatives, coworkers, churches or local businesses that may want to join the cause. Many members of the CKFS community already give in extraordinary ways, by opening their homes, caring for children, serving families, sharing resources, praying, advocating and offering encouragement. Every contribution matters.
Matthew 25:40 reminds us why this work matters: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Together, we can put compassion into action, providing security to children during uncertain seasons, strengthening the families caring for them and helping more children and families move toward hope and healing.
