CKFS Gives Back: A Day of Purpose, Teamwork, and Impact

CK Family Services had the privilege of stepping outside our usual work to support another nonprofit’s mission. Our team came together to help bag meals for children in Ukraine, an experience that left us both humbled and deeply grateful. It’s not every day that we get to make such a hands-on difference for children around the world, and it served as a rewarding reminder of why we do what we do for children close to home.

Starting Fresh: Building Intentional Habits for the New Year

It can be overwhelming to "adult" these days.

Drink more water.

Eat right.

Get enough sleep.

Keep up with the laundry.

Pay the bills.

Make time for the kids.

The list seems endless!

That’s why the start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect and set the tone for the year ahead. Building intentional habits can help us focus on what matters most—whether it’s nurturing your family, prioritizing self-care, or finding balance in your daily routine.

Faith. Hope. Love...

Covid really laid a lick on our world and we quickly woke up to a new normal.  In the wake of the pandemic, relationships have changed, churches have altered, families have morphed and businesses have adjusted. A Call to Rise

I have spent a lifetime working with kids. Most of my work with children has been with teenagers. I very rarely do groups because I prefer to spend time with a young person one-on-one, eyeball to eyeball, heart to heart. Sometimes I only have one opportunity with a kid so it has to count. While many of my children have been hurt by the events of life such as the passing of a family member, bullying, poverty, racism, and various other tragic circumstances, a very large percentage of them have been directly damaged by the actions of adults. The pain is palpable.
