Heather Taylor is a relatively new addition to the CKFS team, and she is already making her mark! As the HR Manager, Heather delights in turning raw talent into organizational strength. She understands that when people are emotionally invested, they want to contribute, and she’s brought a big dose of community building and fun to CKFS. From filling the internal calendar with exciting events to hosting hilarious contests, Heather ensures the staff stays engaged and entertained.

Originally from the Sherman/Denison area, Heather graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management, with a minor in Outdoor Recreation, Military Recreation, and Family Recreation. She used her degree to work for the Navy for 16 years as the “Fun Boss”—no wonder she knows how to bring the fun!

Heather is the proud mother of three daughters who are her entire world. Her eldest is a teacher in North Arlington, her middle daughter is an Adoption, Rescue, and Foster Coordinator for Collin County Animal Shelter, and her youngest is a sophomore at Arlington High School. Heather’s love extends to her four dogs, one cat, and four “grandfur” babies, all of which enrich her life and fill her busy days.

Heather is especially proud of the programs and volunteer hours she dedicated to supporting veterans in her previous roles. Now at CKFS, she is excited to continue the agency’s mission while keeping God at the center of her work. Heather’s passion for fostering and adoption is deeply personal, as she witnessed her brother’s journey as a foster-to-adopt parent. Seven years ago, her brother adopted her niece, a process that Heather describes as a beautiful testament to the love of God and the power of family.

“My ability to support the staff and agency that is doing everything to make these beautiful lives better is a true blessing,” Heather shares. CKFS is fortunate to have her energy, passion, and dedication on the team.
