Jailynn Smiley has been an invaluable member of the CK Family Services team for the last 15 years, and her impact stretches far beyond the walls of our offices. Whether she’s representing CK at events, collaborating with churches, leading her team, or working with the media, her kind and gracious spirit makes her a joy to be around.

As the Director of Community Engagement Foster Care, Jailynn leverages her vast experience and compassionate approach to forge relationships that benefit the children and families we serve. She assumes the vital responsibility of building partnerships with community organizations, advocating for policy reforms rooted in compassion, and providing unwavering support to foster families. She has been a key player in ensuring the success of our Central Texas office, traveling tirelessly across the state to establish vital partnerships around the Waco and Austin areas. She knows just about everyone inside and outside the agency, and her presence is felt across both regions.

Driven by her faith and steadfast commitment to serving others, Jailynn stands out as a dedicated leader with a singular focus on improving the lives of vulnerable children. With over 30 years of experience in foster care, she deeply understands the challenges faced by children who have experienced trauma and separation from their families. Her work is rooted in the biblical principle of caring for the orphaned and vulnerable (James 1:27), and she is tireless in her efforts to ensure every child in foster care finds a safe, nurturing home.

In addition to her role at CK Family Services, Jailynn serves on the Board of Directors of the North Texas Foster Care Consortium as an At Large Member and the Advisory Committee for Foster Village DFW, leveraging her expertise to enhance the support system for foster families in line with the scriptural call to defend the cause of the fatherless (Isaiah 1:17).

When Jailynn isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and sons and participating in the Women’s Fellowship at her church, where she’s been an active member for 36 years. Her commitment to her faith and community continues through her volunteer work, always embodying the call to love one’s neighbor (Mark 12:31).

We are incredibly thankful for Jailynn and the immense impact she’s made on our team, our mission, and the lives of countless children and families.
