When a child needs a safe place—whether it’s the middle of the day, late at night, on a weekend, or even a holiday—the CKFS Intake Team is ready to answer the call. This dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure that children in need are placed in loving, supportive homes as quickly as possible. They know our CK families well, making thoughtful placements that suit the needs and abilities of both the children and the families who welcome them.
The Intake Team is led by DJ DeJong, Director of Family Development & Placement and the day-to-day work is carried out by three committed women who are the backbone of this essential service.

Her passion for the work shines through in every call she takes and every placement she makes.
The CKFS Intake Team plays a vital role in the foster care system. Their work goes beyond simply finding a home; they ensure that each placement is a match that fosters stability, healing, and hope. Their knowledge of our families, combined with their compassion and dedication, creates life-changing opportunities for children in need.
To the CKFS Intake Team, thank you for the long hours, the late-night calls, and the unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child has a safe place to land. Your work is truly invaluable.
