Why We Serve
Texas is facing a crisis. According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation, our state ranks 45th in overall child well-being. In 2020 alone:
- Over 64,000 children were confirmed as victims of maltreatment.
- More than 12,000 children were still waiting to be adopted.
- Countless families are overwhelmed by trauma, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and mental health challenges.
At CK Family Services, we serve not just because there is a need—but because we are called to serve. As Luke 12:48 reminds us:
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”
What Your Support Makes Possible
Your generosity has already made a powerful impact. In 2022 alone:
- 1,637 children received evidence-based behavioral health care
- 600 children found safety and care through our foster care program
- 108 adoptions were finalized, bringing permanence to children's lives
- 139 new homes were approved for foster care or adoption

How We Help Children and Families Thrive

Foster Care & Adoption Services
- Traditional Foster Care provides stability and support for children in DFPS custody.
- CK Treatment Foster Care (CKTFC) offers therapeutic, in-home care for youth with complex behavioral needs.
- Kinship Care places children with relatives or close family friends, keeping roots and history intact.
- Foster-to-Adopt enables families to welcome children permanently into their homes.
Children’s Mental and Behavioral Health Program
- Skills Training & Case Management for children ages 3+ with a mental health diagnosis.
- Texas Families First Initiative, helping families in crisis before removal becomes necessary.
- Resilient Families, a no-cost, upstream intervention for parents facing chronic family stress.
- The HOPE Team, ensuring youth without stable placement receive consistent mental health care.
Family Assessment & Post-Adoption Support
- We provide essential assessments and readiness reports across Texas.
- Our Post-Adoption Services help families remain strong long after finalization—preventing disruptions and preserving permanency.
Why Give on North Texas Giving Day?
Thanks to help from generous givers and sponsors, the Communities Foundation of Texas covers all transaction and technology fees for North Texas Giving Day. That means 100% of every donation made on the NTXGD site goes directly to nonprofits like CK Family Services.
