Thank you for your interest in attending a Joint Information Meeting (JIM). JIMs are general information meetings that use a standardized presentation in collaboration with several North Texas foster care and adoption agencies. The information presented is designed to answer general questions about becoming a foster or adoptive parent for children in Texas Foster Care and include handouts that list information about all of the agencies in North Texas who are members of the collaboration. JIMs are best for folks who are curious to learn about the system and who have not yet made a determination as to which agency they would like to work through. Individuals who participate in a JIM and decide to become a licensed foster parent might participate in the Orientation class offered by the agency they choose to work with to comply with State Minimum Standards.
We hope you will join us for this free, informal information meeting where we present the ins and outs of foster care and adopting from foster care. Everyone is welcome to attend. Child care is not provided on site, so please make appropriate arrangements for your children.
